Avoriaz is a pedestrian resort ideal for every skiers, and especially for children with its nursery school located right in the resort center. The spotless snow of Avoriaz has no price! The Portes du Soleil ski area is one of the biggest and the most various ski area in the world. You will discover 650 km of ski runs spreading over two countries, France and Switzerland. The ski runs are perfectly convenient for average skiers. Regarding the very good skiers, the slopes might not be enough steep. For those who are keen on cinema : since it first edition in 1973, Avoriaz Fantastic Film Festival has made many directos known such as Steven Spielberg who won the Grand Prix in 1973 with Duel, as well as David Cronenberg, David Lynch, James Cameron, Brian de Palma, Luc Besson and many others. From 1994 to 1996, the Fantastic has been replaced with the French Film Festival. Avoriaz is still one of the best French resorts and is known as a place where you can disconnect from your daily life and take advantage of this peaceful resort without cars.
